Product description
The SiteWatch SW005
- unlike the SW060 and SW225
- works with an external 0–5-amp CT (current transformer) and can measure AC current up to the limit of the CT
- i.e.
- 3
- 000-4
- 000 amps. The SW005 picks up the current by induction once it is snapped closed. Reporting of the current reading is done every minute to get accurate readings for electricity monitoring purposes.
The SiteWatch SW005 is a Class A device and communicates over any LoRa gateway. The split core design of the sensor means that it can be installed on any piece of equipment without disconnecting the wires. SW-005 sensors are wired to external CTs before CT deployment on wires. Note that if CTs are installed before being wired to sensors - a shorting block is recommended. If the equipment is no longer in use
- you simply transfer the SW005 to another circuit by unsnapping it and mounting it on the new circuit.
SW-005 sensors require the installer to verify the rating of the CT used (e.g. - 400:5
- 1200:5) and the number of conductors per phase. Because it uses LoRa
- it is less sensitive to interference and can transmit for long distances. The SW005 is a LoRa device that can transmit via long distances with safe data transmission. The sensor requires current to charge up (500 ma) before transmitting
- so it requires the target to be any motor
- lighting panel
- HVAC load
- or industrial process that will exceed that amp level in normal operation. Vutility HotDrop Direct energy voltage
